Independent Guide to DVLA Medical Licence Decisions
England & Wales. A self-help e-book with checklists, letter templates and a deadline calculator, for when a licence is revoked or refused on medical grounds or a DVLA medical decision is taking too long.
A DVLA letter saying "you must stop driving" gives you three options and a deadline, but it doesn't tell you which option suits your case or how to use it. This kit takes you through them in the order it recommends, usually the cheapest and least risky first: send further medical evidence, then reapply at the right moment, and appeal to the magistrates' court only as a last resort, with a clear warning about costs.
For nine conditions, it sets out what DVLA's published standard requires and which evidence addresses each requirement. It also shows how to ask your doctor for facts DVLA can use. The conditions covered are epilepsy and seizures, insulin-treated diabetes, sleep apnoea, heart conditions, eyesight, mental health, stroke, dementia and alcohol.
